Are you Serious?
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I am surprised by "K. Pring"'s review. This book is well written? It is very much the opposite. Deckers defines the same words in many different ways in separate chapters. His definitions and examples suffer from extreme tautology, and the book shows a clear bias for evolutionary / behavioral psychology. The same ideas, phrases and sometimes sentences are repeated exhaustively. The only concise writing is in the chapter summaries. He makes assumptions without evidence. We have had to read the whole book except one chapter, and so far it is very disappointing. One of the worst textbooks I have had.

infant development college course members
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Although this video contains some good information, it also is a bit misleading at times and omits important information.

Child Development: The First Two Years does not include the importance of placing babies on their backs for sleep nor does it include other key information that research has found to reduce the likelihood of SIDS, such as ceiling fans and pacifiers.

Encouraging parents to place birth to three-year-old children in infant seats is not best practice. Infants need to be held whenever possible and shown their world. It is likely that infants who are placed in seats for extended periods will develop a flat skull (back of head becomes flat)--this is NOT normal.

Although a "disclaimer" of sorts was tacked onto the end of the recommendation for using playpens, it would have been better to warn against over use of playpens in the beginning and stress the need for infants to freely explore (physically) their environment as much as possible.

The recommendation to read to infants at an early age is commendable; however, the video illustrates a picture book with busy and abstract drawings. Infants benefit most from simple photographs of real items--they need to learn about their real world first.

one of the best
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have used Dr Thompson's (The Relaxation Company) brainwave entrainment CD's and Health Journey's guided meditations for a number of years and find them helpful, mostly for relaxation. As an insomnia sufferer for the past 40 years, I have found both to be very effective but I like brainwave entrainment best.
It's important to take the time to research these products. There is plenty of scientific research found on the internet that backs up the claims made for light and sound technology. Ignore the hype and unrealistic claims made on some product websites.
I decided to try the MindSpa because it sounded like it might be even more effective than Thompson's CDs. Although a bit weird at first, I find that I like it very much. It seems to improve the quality of my sleep and helps with my daytime meditation.
The reason I say it was weird is because it is quite different from Thompson's. Thompson embeds the soundwave pulses in his music so you don't hear the pulses, just the music. In Mind Spa, it's just steady pulses without music and flickering lights from the LED glasses. One nice feature, though, is an extra jack to hook up to a CD so you can have the music you like along with the pulses and lights.
I have read reports (not just the one here but others too) that people experience dizziness and other odd effects afterward. I haven't had any problems. I was careful to read the booklet that comes with this and to do the programs as suggested. To just jump in to the most advanced program without acclimating to the technology is a mistake. Also, people with seizure disorders should not use this product because the flashing lights could trigger a seizure. There are other warnings concerning people with health problems, so go to the website - [...] to find out what they are.
I wasn't happy with the ear buds because they don't stay in my ears when I'm lying down but otherwise, this is a nicely designed product that's easy to use.

100 Ways to Motivate Others is Insanely Good Motivation for Managers
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Steve Chandler has written another gem with 100 Ways to Motivate Others: How Great Leaders Can Produce Insane Results Without Driving People Crazy. Filled with practical solutions to everyday scenarios this book has inspired me to be a better manager and pursue my Masters Degree in Management. Chandler doesn't mince words - he tells it like it is and every manager will find a bit of themselves in the scenarios and stories. He gets it right by telling you up front that reading the book won't change your work life, but choosing to act on the ideas will. I was able to pick up ideas that I could use the next day in my work. It's so good I purchased the audio version for my boss!

Expressive Personality NLP audio program
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
(Hi this is Michael J. Emery - creator of this audio program. For reasons unknown I wasn't able to include a much needed description of this personal development program when I submitted it to Amazon.)

Have you ever felt a little stuck when it comes to expressing yourself?

Perhaps there are certain emotions that you just don't know how to emote or convey to other people? Expressive Personality is a great way to learn how to try on those emotions and create flexibility with you capability to communicate with others.

This program is about you becoming the full embodiment of what you want to share with others. It will help your interactions professionally and personally, and can be used in the context of various situations.

Book could use some order or classification
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
So, we have a list of 100 ways. Ways are more that ideas, they should bring together different parts of our motivation knowledge.
These 100 ideas, don't seem to be in any particular order, and are therefore impossible to remember. (Unless we take the trouble to order them.) One order could be: ideas related to the communication process, related to vision, related to relation...
There is no expression of relative importance of these ways / ideas.
In short: messy and might be worth rewritting
Ideas / ways are reasonable, so 2 stars.

Poor quality
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I remember colorforms as sturdy and fun. These colorforms are horrible!! The playset fell apart the first time my grandson played with it, very poorly constructed. The pieces have lost their color and it is only one month old. They are also very thin and don't stick. What a disappointment!!!!! Colorforms, what happened to your company???
